A new shoot ‘em up action game has just hit the App Store ! Alien Abuse is a fun addictive game that keeps you stuck to the iPhone for hours.
At it’s simplest; Alien Abuse is all about destruction and killing alien creatures in strange worlds.
If you like the classic games: Metroid, Castlevania or any 2D side-scroll games you will love this one.
You play as a vicious Predator like creature , you have to make your way through dungeons and many alien environments fighting against strange creatures , aggressive flying objects and all kind of evil things. You have a large array of laser rifles, grenade launchers, heat-seeking rocket launchers, plasma rifles, flamethrowers, laser sabers, and the nefarious Death Frisbees all for pounding at hundreds of enemies.

PRO’s:
- Intuitive controls , that don’t take much of the screen.
- More than 20 hours of game + extras bonuses
- Power-ups that augment your capabilities. Some allow you to increase your health limit, move faster, turn invisible, and even fly.
- Highly interactive environment with doors, switches, teleporters, hidden walls, buttons, activators, elevators galore to play with.
- Downright scary sound effects. From alien shrieks and far-off clanging machinery to pulsating lasers or your own thumping heartbeat.
- Fast paced !

CON’s:
- Once you start playing you can’t go back to the menu, you have to press the home button and start the game again.
- At certain times when you are fighting lots of creatures the game lags a bit.

It is available at the App Store for 0.99$ , worth every penny ! mainly because of it’s graphics and its fast paced gameplay.

  2. Jeremy Said,

This game is a rip-off of free levels released for the original game (Abuse) released for the PC in 1995. The author did not have permission to sell these. Do not buy this game or support authors who steal from fan communities.

  3. Dave Taylor Said,

    Jeremy speaks the truth.

I am the producer of the original Abuse game, and indeed, they did not license the Abuse trademark, the sound effects, nor the registered levels (all after level 5), which based on the shareware model is the only way we get paid. We have not seen a penny from the sales of Alien Abuse so far, and this has been very distressing to me and to the other original authors. :(

Alien Abuse has recently been taken down from the US App Store, but we understand it is still available on the international App Stores.

We’ve now released the official version, Abuse Classic, on the US App Store:

If you already purchased the unlicensed “Alien Abuse” version, I don’t blame you if you don’t want to pay for what is essentially the same game again, but speaking on behalf of myself and the original developers, we would certainly appreciate your support.

    @Jeremy
You might want to look up the verb “to steal” in a dictionary.
The creators of the free levels should get a proper credit, yes. However, they simply don’t own the levels and that’s one of the reasons why your accusation of theft is a joke.

Personally, I’m glad that somebody took the time and effort to port this classic to the iphone. And that’s why I’m going to support the author.
