From the makers of Ankagua3D, StormBASIC now tackles the survival horror genre with ‘7 Days Apocalypse’. The game is about an unknown virus, called “S-Virus” that is killing and turning millions of people into Zombies! You play a female heroin, Akemi, and your mission is to is to protect Dr. Cupper, humanity’s last hope for finding an antidote.
At first glance this game looks like a copy of iDracula + Tomb Raider, but what sets it apart are the 3D graphics. Being a 3D game the developers easily implemented 2 game views. Back camera mode is a nice addition that distinguishes it from others in its genre, but it needs some improvement. A mini map of the zombies/ghosts would provide the needed peripheral vision.
There are two gameplay modes History and Survival.
History Mode has 7 levels, one for each day where you have a pre-set mission that you must complete before continuing to the next day.
- Day 1: The Beginning
You have to kill 25 zombies. (a counter appears at the top of screen with a health bar at the bottom)
- Day 2: Protect Cupper
You have to protect a Dr. Cupper from zombies. (This is where you see a buxom Dr. Cupper in typical b-movie tight clothes and your job is literally to shoot around her until you reach the mansion)
- Day 3: Infected
You have been infected. In this level your life is decreasing continuously, so your only option is kill as fast as possible, to get life items. (As you shoot zombies, health power ups will appear that you need to constantly pick up to raise your health bar; a 3:00 minute timer appears at the top so basically you have to survive for that long)
- Day 4: BioHazard
You have to find some Biohazard containers. (As you shoot zombies, you will come across various containers which you need to collect)
- Day 5: Spectral Chaos
In this level, a lot of ghost appears. You have to kill 35 of them to complete it.
- Day 6: Apocalypse
You have to survive a 5-minute onslaught. (A timer appears at top with health bar at bottom to monitor your progress)
- Day 7: Last Hope
You have to protect again Dr. Cupper from zombies, as in level 2.
Survival mode, is just that…keep Akemi alive as long as you can against the insane blood thirsty Zombies who will get more deadly the longer you play!
WEAPONS include Guns, Chainsaw and a Plasma gun that can one hit kill the zombies.
The controls are not bad, and I think they’re pretty responsive and accurate.

CON’s:
- The story mode is to short (7 chapters - 1 hour max)
- No online leaderboards
- The game story feels like it hasnt been thought through. I mean can deadly virus can produce ghosts? and how is Dr. Cupper working on the andidote in a cemetery instead of a lab?
- The character doesn’t have a different animation for walking backwards or sideways.. and this results in it doing an awkward moonwalk most of the time
Keeping in mind that this is a 1.0 release, future updates should include additional monsters, weapons (love the chainsaw), and even a perks/bonus system of some kind to upgrade your character. Additional sublevels with different environments would be welcome as well.
