There are not a lot of pinball games on the Iphone, which is weird if you think about it, as this could be the perfect device for this kind of games. It has a huge screen, is capable of great graphics and has an accelometer that can be used to control different aspects of the game (shaking the ‘table’ for example) plus the force feedback from the hardware. You would basically have a pinball machine in your pocket.
The trend on the Iphone appstore always was for a great game to appear for a specific genre and after a ton of attempts from other developers to try to replicate its success. That was the case of Field Runners for tower defense games and this will be the case for Iugos’s Frebballin’ for pinball games.
This is a game with great production value, from its beautiful designed levels and graphics to the sound effects and music they will all impress. For a small price you will get endless hours of pinball entertainment spread across four unique and beautiful rendered playfields.
These are:
-Tiki Trouble: a beautiful jungle inspired level with water falls, volcanoes and huts
-Monsteropolis: a destroyed cityscape by a battle between humans and a variety of monsters
-Dreams & Nightmares: a weird but wonderful designed level with unicorns, polar bears, huge hands and more weird stuff
-Neomatric: a futuristic looking playing board with disco influences
Each of this levels also include a bonus one that can be accessed by entering different openings in the pinball table. These are totally different tables with their own challenges but have the same theme as the level from which you accessed it. Also you will unlock missions specific for each pinball table.
You get to play three distinct gameplay modes:
-Score Attack: aim high to become the Freeballin’ King
- Time Attack: in which you have to speed towards the targeted point value in a race against time
-Adventure Challenge: an interesting approach to pinballing that will take you through an enjoying journey in which you will earn tokens, collect artifacts and buy powerups.
The controls are pretty straight forward, you tap anywhere on the left side of the screen to move the left flipper and respectively anywhere on the right side to move the right one.
Freeballin’ is a must have game, it is worth its money and honestly I would even pay more as it offers countless hours of fun and gameplay in a beautiful package with very unique and original pinball tables.
Features:
-4 unique playfields
-3 different gameplay modes
-Local and Online leader boards
-Bonus levels for each playfield
PRO’s:
-Each level is beautiful designed each having its specific theme and charm
-Very addictive and good value for your money
CON’s:
-The game crashed a couple of times while we where testing it
Price:
Freeballin’ is available at the App Store for 1.99$

Agreed - this is one of the best value apps - out there
It would be worth it for just one of the themed tables - let alone all four (personally, I’m hooked on the Monsteropolis table)
I’m just updating the first minor update, as I write, which is said to include tilt input, another major update with extra table (ToyBot themed) is also on the way.
boy does your money go a long way in iPhone gaming!
