Boy do my fingers hurt ! I found myself playing StickWars till my fingers got numb from all the flicking and tapping . This fast-paced ,action packed game will challenge you to the max , requiring lightning-fast fingers and cunning strategy.
Tap, flick, and shake your way to victory the first high-quality castle defense game for the iPhone/iPod Touch.
The game is simple but fun and challenging ,you have a castle that needs to be protected from the hordes of attacking stick-men. They come in waves and you have to use your fingers to kill them, either by flicking them into the air or squishing them into submission. If the stick-men reach the castle they will attack it , lowering its HP , when the hit points reach zero , you lose.

After each wave of attackers you can use the money you gained in different ways , depending on your strategy :

- Repair walls
- Fortify walls ( increase the HP of your castle)
- Build a prison ( once you have this you can capture stick-men by gently grabbing and dropping them in the middle of your castle , you can later use these prisoners against the attacking ones)
- Build a bomb factory (use captives to blow up invaders by shaking your iPhone)
- Build an Archery Range ( here you train archers which automatically kill the approaching invaders)
Future upgrades will also include
- Wizard School ,where you will be able to train wizards who cast spells
- Repair Shop , train repairmen who automatically repair the castle walls

Features:

- Unlimited rounds. Keep playing until defeated.
- Automatically saves your game at the end of each round.
- Shake to deploy bombers, shake again to detonate!
- Original graphics and sound effects.

PRO’s:
- Very original and fun gameplay
- Intuitive controls
- Easy to pick up game that becomes insanely addictive

CON’s:
- Could use a way to change difficulty of the game and maybe to remove the upkeep on archers

Price:

It is available at the App Store for 0.99$

  1. LongJohnnyE Said,

    This is the dev here:

Love the review, but I beg you to check out version 1.1 when Apple approve its. Everything was upgraded: there is blood (particle effects), and two new upgrades, wizards and repairmen. Also many other small graphics improvements, more sound effects, and bug fixes!

Also once 1.1 is accepted, I’m ready to submit 1.2 to Apple that has adjustable difficultly, blood levels, and online high score list.

This game will keep getting significant upgrades for the few weeks as I flesh it out.

    Thanks again!

How can you say original game play? This is a complete rip off of Defend Your Castle.

This game is really fun. The new graphics, features (meteors, wizards, repairmen) are really fun to have. I just played it for 1 hour and had to stop because my arm was too tired. It’s addictive!!

  10. Mushy Said,

I’d like to see the stats for the game posted somewhere. For example, I would like to know how many repairmen I have to put to work to get bonuses in the amount of repair they perform. Does the amount of money per kill go up as you get to higher levels, if so, what are they? How is the number of enemies thrown at you each round determined? etc…

Also, I agree that the upkeep on the archers needs to be adjusted. Not only do you pay $100 every round, but at a 50% adjusted kill rate, they cost you thousands more each round for their kills. Kinda getting you at both ends there.
