Merlin’s Legacy - iPhone Review

Posted by cris On May - 4 - 2009

Visually, Merlin’s Legacy has decent cartoon-like graphics and animation. While there is no background music, the sound effects are more than adequate. The game is set up like iShoot except without the turn-based approach. Merlin’s Legacy is played in landscape mode and requires you to pan the screen to see the entire length of the duel. Ideally, the devs would have included a zoom function so the entire area could be viewed at once, but it’s not a big deal. The storyline is that Merlin has been killed, and you take on the role of a young wizard who wants to fill those shoes. But you must battle other wizards who are just as eager to inherit Merlin’s legacy (hence the game title). Honestly, the story is a bit contrived and adds minimally to the overall game. But, you get a new chapter of the story as you progress from battle to battle. Read the rest of this entry »

When you have an Iphone in your hand you know that you are holding a great piece of technology, but if you have an Iphone with the new 24 Special Ops game you will also hold one wicked gaming machine. This app officially gives the Iphone what it always needed, a game with great production value, story and the official, nr 1 badass voice in the world, of Jack Bauer.
Honestly, a game based on the TV series of 24 is a sure win, you could have made it only with the face of Jack and him saying every 2 seconds ‘Bauer here’ and it still would have been a must have game, but the developers have done even better. They managed to bring the feeling of the TV series to the iPhone by giving you a well rounded story with lots of action and interesting minigames. Read the rest of this entry »

Payback - iPhone game video review

gta1
Old school GTA returns !It’s basically a 3D version of the old top-down GTA gameplay, improved with better rendering and lighting. You control the game by pressing “buttons” on the screen, and tilting the iPhone around. Some missions are apparently tough, but in terms of what GTA is really about — driving around and generally causing mayhem — Payback will deliver. VIDEO INSIDE Read the rest of this entry »
